A rare carved pink Georgia marble fragment made by the architect Edward H. Bennett, who designed Buckingham Fountain, Chicago, 1927. The fragment was a spare section of the fountain that was never installed and which remained with the Bennett family. The fragment depicts an open clam shell from which water poured. Buckingham Fountain was donated to the city by Kate Buckingham in memory of her brother Clarence Buckingham.
